FAQs
Wellness coaching is a collaborative, conversation-based process that helps you make meaningful changes in your health, habits, and daily life. It focuses on your goals, values, and strengths, rather than giving one-size-fits-all advice.
Therapy often focuses on healing past trauma, mental health diagnoses, or long-standing emotional patterns, while coaching focuses more on where you are now and where you want to go. Coaching is future-oriented and goal-focused, and it does not diagnose, treat, or replace mental health care.
Coaching can support stress and burnout, nervous-system regulation, life transitions (new parenthood, caregiving, grief, career changes), self-care routines, boundaries, and general lifestyle changes such as sleep, rest, and movement.
We begin with a check-in and clarify what feels most important to focus on that day. From there, we explore your situation, reflect on what’s working, identify obstacles, and co-create 1–3 realistic next steps you feel ready to try before our next session.
Coaching is not about prescribing a rigid plan; it’s about partnering with you to discover what will actually work in your real life. I may offer ideas, tools, or education, but you remain the expert on your body, circumstances, and capacity, and we decide together what to experiment with.
We can explore stress, sleep, nervous system regulation, routines and habits, self-care, boundaries, relationships, transitions, grief, and how to find more steadiness and meaning in your everyday life. We’ll define “wellness” in a way that fits you personally.
Most clients start with sessions every one to two weeks, especially during times of active change. Sessions are usually 60 minutes, with the option of a longer initial intake to get a fuller picture of your life and goals.
Yes. Coaching can be done in-person or virtually, and many people appreciate the convenience and privacy of meeting online from home or work.
Some people come with a specific, time-limited goal and work together for 3–6 sessions, while others prefer ongoing support over several months. We will check in regularly about how coaching is serving you and adjust the frequency or duration as needed.
In most cases, wellness coaching is not covered by extended health benefits and is paid out of pocket. Some clients choose to use health spending accounts or wellness stipends if available through their employer.
Coaching may be a good fit if you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or ready for change but unsure where to begin, and you want supportive, structured conversations rather than diagnosis or clinical treatment. A short consultation is often the best way to sense whether this approach feels right.
You’re invited to show up as you are—no perfection required. Coaching works best when you are willing to be honest, curious, and open to exploring new perspectives, and when you’re ready to experiment with small, manageable steps between sessions.
